قَالَتْqālatShe saidيَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓyāwaylatāWoe to meءَأَلِدُa-aliduShall I bear a childوَأَنَا۠wa-anāwhile I amعَجُوزٌۭʿajūzunan old womanوَهَـٰذَاwahādhāand thisبَعْلِىbaʿlīmy husbandشَيْخًا ۖshaykhan(is) an old manإِنَّinnaIndeedهَـٰذَاhādhāthisلَشَىْءٌlashayon(is) surely a thingعَجِيبٌۭʿajībunamazing
11:72
قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey saidأَتَعْجَبِينَataʿjabīnaAre you amazedمِنْminatأَمْرِamri(the) decree of Allahٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi(the) decree of AllahرَحْمَتُraḥmatuThe Mercy of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahiThe Mercy of Allahوَبَرَكَـٰتُهُۥwabarakātuhuand His blessingsعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykum(be) upon youأَهْلَahlapeopleٱلْبَيْتِ ۚl-bayti(of) the houseإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, Heحَمِيدٌۭḥamīdun(is) All-PraiseworthyمَّجِيدٌۭmajīdunAll-Glorious
11:73
فَلَمَّاfalammāAnd whenذَهَبَdhahaba(had) gone awayعَنْʿanfromإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahimٱلرَّوْعُl-rawʿuthe frightوَجَآءَتْهُwajāathuand had reached himٱلْبُشْرَىٰl-bush'rāthe glad tidingsيُجَـٰدِلُنَاyujādilunāhe argued with Usفِىfīconcerningقَوْمِqawmithe peopleلُوطٍlūṭinof Lut
11:74
إِنَّinnaIndeedإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahimلَحَلِيمٌlaḥalīmun(was) certainly forbearingأَوَّٰهٌۭawwāhunimploringمُّنِيبٌۭmunībunand oft-returning
11:75
يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُyāib'rāhīmuO IbrahimأَعْرِضْaʿriḍTurn awayعَنْʿanfromهَـٰذَآ ۖhādhāthisإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, itقَدْqadcertainlyجَآءَjāahas comeأَمْرُamru(the) Commandرَبِّكَ ۖrabbika(of) your Lordوَإِنَّهُمْwa-innahumand indeed, [they]ءَاتِيهِمْātīhim(will) come (for) themعَذَابٌʿadhābuna punishmentغَيْرُghayru(which) cannotمَرْدُودٍۢmardūdin(be) repelled
11:76
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenجَآءَتْjāatcameرُسُلُنَاrusulunāOur messengersلُوطًۭاlūṭan(to) Lutسِىٓءَsīahe was distressedبِهِمْbihimfor themوَضَاقَwaḍāqaand felt straitenedبِهِمْbihimfor themذَرْعًۭاdharʿan(and) uneasyوَقَالَwaqālaand saidهَـٰذَاhādhāThisيَوْمٌyawmun(is) a dayعَصِيبٌۭʿaṣībundistressful
11:77
وَجَآءَهُۥwajāahuAnd came (to) himقَوْمُهُۥqawmuhuhis peopleيُهْرَعُونَyuh'raʿūnarushingإِلَيْهِilayhito himوَمِنwaminand beforeقَبْلُqabluand beforeكَانُوا۟kānūthey (had) beenيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnadoingٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚl-sayiātithe evil deedsقَالَqālaHe saidيَـٰقَوْمِyāqawmiO my peopleهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāiTheseبَنَاتِىbanātī(are) my daughtersهُنَّhunnatheyأَطْهَرُaṭharu(are) purerلَكُمْ ۖlakumfor youفَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَلَاwalāand (do) notتُخْزُونِtukh'zūnidisgrace meفِىfīconcerningضَيْفِىٓ ۖḍayfīmy guestsأَلَيْسَalaysaIs (there) notمِنكُمْminkumamong youرَجُلٌۭrajuluna manرَّشِيدٌۭrashīdunright-minded
11:78
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidلَقَدْlaqadVerilyعَلِمْتَʿalim'tayou knowمَاmā(that) notلَنَاlanāwe haveفِىfīconcerningبَنَاتِكَbanātikayour daughtersمِنْminanyحَقٍّۢḥaqqinrightوَإِنَّكَwa-innakaAnd indeed, youلَتَعْلَمُlataʿlamusurely knowمَاmāwhatنُرِيدُnurīduwe want
11:79
قَالَqālaHe saidلَوْlawIfأَنَّannathatلِىlīI hadبِكُمْbikumover youقُوَّةًquwwatanpowerأَوْaworءَاوِىٓāwīI could take refugeإِلَىٰilāinرُكْنٍۢruk'nina supportشَدِيدٍۢshadīdinstrong
11:80
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidيَـٰلُوطُyālūṭuO LutإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weرُسُلُrusulu(are) messengersرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordلَنlanneverيَصِلُوٓا۟yaṣilūthey will reachإِلَيْكَ ۖilaykayouفَأَسْرِfa-asriSo travelبِأَهْلِكَbi-ahlikawith your familyبِقِطْعٍۢbiqiṭ'ʿinin a partمِّنَminaofٱلَّيْلِal-laylithe nightوَلَاwalāand (let) notيَلْتَفِتْyaltafitlook backمِنكُمْminkumanyone of youأَحَدٌaḥadunanyone of youإِلَّاillāexceptٱمْرَأَتَكَ ۖim'ra-atakayour wifeإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, itمُصِيبُهَاmuṣībuhāwill strike herمَآmāwhatأَصَابَهُمْ ۚaṣābahumwill strike themإِنَّinnaIndeedمَوْعِدَهُمُmawʿidahumutheir appointed timeٱلصُّبْحُ ۚl-ṣub'ḥu(is) morningأَلَيْسَalaysaIs notٱلصُّبْحُl-ṣub'ḥuthe morningبِقَرِيبٍۢbiqarībinnear
11:81
