۞ وَٱعْلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُم مِّن شَىْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُۥ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ إِن كُنتُمْ ءَامَنتُم بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 41
إِذْ أَنتُم بِٱلْعُدْوَةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُم بِٱلْعُدْوَةِ ٱلْقُصْوَىٰ وَٱلرَّكْبُ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْۚ وَلَوْ تَوَاعَدتُّمْ لَٱخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِى ٱلْمِيعَـٰدِۙ وَلَـٰكِن لِّيَقْضِىَ ٱللَّهُ أَمْرًا كَانَ مَفْعُولاً لِّيَهْلِكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ عَنۢ بَيِّنَةٍ وَيَحْيَىٰ مَنْ حَىَّ عَنۢ بَيِّنَةٍۗ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَسَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 42
إِذْ يُرِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى مَنَامِكَ قَلِيلاًۖ وَلَوْ أَرَٮٰكَهُمْ كَثِيرًا لَّفَشِلْتُمْ وَلَتَنَـٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَلَّمَۗ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ 43
وَإِذْ يُرِيكُمُوهُمْ إِذِ ٱلْتَقَيْتُمْ فِىٓ أَعْيُنِكُمْ قَلِيلاً وَيُقَلِّلُكُمْ فِىٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ لِيَقْضِىَ ٱللَّهُ أَمْرًا كَانَ مَفْعُولاًۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ 44
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا لَقِيتُمْ فِئَةً فَٱثْبُتُواْ وَٱذْكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ 45
۞ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟wa-iʿ'lamūAnd knowأَنَّمَاannamāthat whatغَنِمْتُمghanim'tumyou obtain (as) spoils of warمِّنminofشَىْءٍۢshayinanythingفَأَنَّfa-annathen thatلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahخُمُسَهُۥkhumusahu(is) one fifth of itوَلِلرَّسُولِwalilrrasūliand for the Messengerوَلِذِىwalidhīand for theٱلْقُرْبَىٰl-qur'bānear relativesوَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰwal-yatāmāand the orphansوَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينِwal-masākīniand the needyوَٱبْنِwa-ib'niand theٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīliwayfarerإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyouءَامَنتُمāmantumbelieveبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَمَآwamāand (in) whatأَنزَلْنَاanzalnāWe sent downعَلَىٰʿalātoعَبْدِنَاʿabdināOur slaveيَوْمَyawma(on the) dayٱلْفُرْقَانِl-fur'qāni(of) the criterionيَوْمَyawma(the) dayٱلْتَقَىl-taqā(when) metٱلْجَمْعَانِ ۗl-jamʿānithe two forcesوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَلَىٰʿalā(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَىْءٍۢshayinthingقَدِيرٌqadīrunAll-Powerful
8:41
إِذْidhWhenأَنتُمantumyou (were)بِٱلْعُدْوَةِbil-ʿud'wation side of the valleyٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe nearerوَهُمwahumand theyبِٱلْعُدْوَةِbil-ʿud'wati(were) on the sideٱلْقُصْوَىٰl-quṣ'wāthe fartherوَٱلرَّكْبُwal-rakbuand the caravanأَسْفَلَasfala(was) lowerمِنكُمْ ۚminkumthan youوَلَوْwalawAnd ifتَوَاعَدتُّمْtawāʿadttumyou (had) made an appointmentلَٱخْتَلَفْتُمْla-ikh'talaftumcertainly you would have failedفِىfīinٱلْمِيعَـٰدِ ۙl-mīʿādithe appointmentوَلَـٰكِنwalākinButلِّيَقْضِىَliyaqḍiyathat might accomplishٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahأَمْرًۭاamrana matterكَانَkāna(that) wasمَفْعُولًۭاmafʿūlandestinedلِّيَهْلِكَliyahlikathat (might be) destroyedمَنْman(those) whoهَلَكَhalaka(were to be) destroyedعَنۢʿanonبَيِّنَةٍۢbayyinatina clear evidenceوَيَحْيَىٰwayaḥyāand (might) liveمَنْman(those) whoحَىَّḥayya(were to) liveعَنۢʿanonبَيِّنَةٍۢ ۗbayyinatina clear evidenceوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَسَمِيعٌlasamīʿun(is) All-HearingعَلِيمٌʿalīmunAll-Knowing
8:42
إِذْidhWhenيُرِيكَهُمُyurīkahumuyou (where) shown themٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) Allahفِىfīinمَنَامِكَmanāmikayour dreamقَلِيلًۭا ۖqalīlan(as) fewوَلَوْwalawand ifأَرَىٰكَهُمْarākahumHe had shown them to youكَثِيرًۭاkathīran(as) manyلَّفَشِلْتُمْlafashil'tumsurely you would have lost courageوَلَتَنَـٰزَعْتُمْwalatanāzaʿtumand surely you would have disputedفِىfīinٱلْأَمْرِl-amrithe matterوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabutٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahسَلَّمَ ۗsallamasaved (you)إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, Heعَلِيمٌۢʿalīmun(is) All-Knowerبِذَاتِbidhātiof what is inٱلصُّدُورِl-ṣudūrithe breasts
8:43
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenيُرِيكُمُوهُمْyurīkumūhumHe showed them to youإِذِidhiwhenٱلْتَقَيْتُمْl-taqaytumyou met فِىٓfīinأَعْيُنِكُمْaʿyunikumyour eyesقَلِيلًۭاqalīlan(as) fewوَيُقَلِّلُكُمْwayuqallilukumand He made you (appear) as fewفِىٓfīinأَعْيُنِهِمْaʿyunihimtheir eyesلِيَقْضِىَliyaqḍiyathat might accomplishٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah might accomplishأَمْرًۭاamrana matterكَانَkāna(that) wasمَفْعُولًۭا ۗmafʿūlan(already) destinedوَإِلَىwa-ilāAnd toٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahتُرْجَعُtur'jaʿureturnٱلْأُمُورُl-umūru(all) the matters
8:44
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūbelieveإِذَاidhāWhenلَقِيتُمْlaqītumyou meetفِئَةًۭfi-atana forceفَٱثْبُتُوا۟fa-uth'butūthen be firmوَٱذْكُرُوا۟wa-udh'kurūand rememberٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَثِيرًۭاkathīranmuchلَّعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتُفْلِحُونَtuf'liḥūna(be) successful
