إِذْ تَسْتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُمْ فَٱسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ أَنِّى مُمِدُّكُم بِأَلْفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ مُرْدِفِينَ 9
وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ بِهِۦ قُلُوبُكُمْۚ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ 10
إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ ٱلنُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم بِهِۦ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمْ رِجْزَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ ٱلْأَقْدَامَ 11
إِذْ يُوحِى رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ أَنِّى مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْۚ سَأُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلرُّعْبَ فَٱضْرِبُواْ فَوْقَ ٱلْأَعْنَاقِ وَٱضْرِبُواْ مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍ 12
ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۚ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ 13
ذَٲلِكُمْ فَذُوقُوهُ وَأَنَّ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ 14
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوهُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ 15
وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَهُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَٮٰهُ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ 16
إِذْidhWhenتَسْتَغِيثُونَtastaghīthūnayou were seeking helpرَبَّكُمْrabbakum(of) your Lordفَٱسْتَجَابَfa-is'tajābaand He answeredلَكُمْlakum[to] youأَنِّىannīIndeed, I amمُمِدُّكُمmumiddukumgoing to reinforce youبِأَلْفٍۢbi-alfinwith a thousandمِّنَminaofٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِl-malāikatithe Angelsمُرْدِفِينَmur'difīnaone after another
8:9
وَمَاwamāAnd notجَعَلَهُjaʿalahu(it was) madeٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) Allahإِلَّاillābutبُشْرَىٰbush'rāgood tidingsوَلِتَطْمَئِنَّwalitaṭma-innaand so that might be at restبِهِۦbihiwith itقُلُوبُكُمْ ۚqulūbukumyour heartsوَمَاwamāAnd (there is) noٱلنَّصْرُl-naṣru[the] victoryإِلَّاillāexceptمِنْminfromعِندِʿindi[of]ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllahإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَزِيزٌʿazīzun(is) All-MightyحَكِيمٌḥakīmunAll-Wise
8:10
إِذْidhWhenيُغَشِّيكُمُyughashīkumuHe covered youٱلنُّعَاسَl-nuʿāsawith [the] slumberأَمَنَةًۭamanatana securityمِّنْهُmin'hufrom Himوَيُنَزِّلُwayunazziluand sent downعَلَيْكُمʿalaykumupon youمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyمَآءًۭmāanwaterلِّيُطَهِّرَكُمliyuṭahhirakumso that He may purify youبِهِۦbihiwith itوَيُذْهِبَwayudh'hibaand take awayعَنكُمْʿankumfrom youرِجْزَrij'zaevil (suggestions)ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِl-shayṭāni(of) the ShaitaanوَلِيَرْبِطَwaliyarbiṭaAnd to strengthenعَلَىٰʿalā[on]قُلُوبِكُمْqulūbikumyour heartsوَيُثَبِّتَwayuthabbitaand make firmبِهِbihiwith itٱلْأَقْدَامَl-aqdāmayour feet
8:11
إِذْidhWhenيُوحِىyūḥīinspiredرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordإِلَىilātoٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِl-malāikatithe AngelsأَنِّىannīI amمَعَكُمْmaʿakumwith youفَثَبِّتُوا۟fathabbitūso strengthenٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟ ۚāmanūbelievedسَأُلْقِىsa-ul'qīI will castفِىfīinقُلُوبِqulūbi(the) heartsٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved ٱلرُّعْبَl-ruʿ'bathe terrorفَٱضْرِبُوا۟fa-iḍ'ribūso strikeفَوْقَfawqaaboveٱلْأَعْنَاقِl-aʿnāqithe necksوَٱضْرِبُوا۟wa-iḍ'ribūand strikeمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themكُلَّkullaeveryبَنَانٍۢbanāninfingertip[s]
8:12
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatبِأَنَّهُمْbi-annahum(is) because theyشَآقُّوا۟shāqqūopposedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥ ۚwarasūlahuand His MessengerوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُشَاقِقِyushāqiqiopposesٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messengerفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahشَدِيدُshadīdu(is) severeٱلْعِقَابِl-ʿiqābiin [the] penalty
8:13
ذَٰلِكُمْdhālikumThat فَذُوقُوهُfadhūqūhuSo taste itوَأَنَّwa-annaAnd thatلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَlil'kāfirīnafor the disbelieversعَذَابَʿadhāba(is the) punishmentٱلنَّارِl-nāri(of) the Fire
8:14
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūbelieveإِذَاidhāWhenلَقِيتُمُlaqītumuyou meetٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveزَحْفًۭاzaḥfanadvancingفَلَاfalāthen (do) notتُوَلُّوهُمُtuwallūhumuturn to themٱلْأَدْبَارَl-adbārathe backs
8:15
وَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُوَلِّهِمْyuwallihimturns to themيَوْمَئِذٍۢyawma-idhinthat dayدُبُرَهُۥٓduburahuhis backإِلَّاillāexceptمُتَحَرِّفًۭاmutaḥarrifan(as) a strategyلِّقِتَالٍliqitālinof warأَوْaworمُتَحَيِّزًاmutaḥayyizan(to) joinإِلَىٰilātoفِئَةٍۢfi-atina groupفَقَدْfaqadcertainlyبَآءَbāa(he has) incurredبِغَضَبٍۢbighaḍabinwrathمِّنَminaofٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَمَأْوَىٰهُwamawāhuand his abodeجَهَنَّمُ ۖjahannamu(is) Hellوَبِئْسَwabi'saa wretchedٱلْمَصِيرُl-maṣīrudestination
8:16
