إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو بِٱلْإِفْكِ عُصْبَةٌ مِّنكُمْۚ لَا تَحْسَبُوهُ شَرًّا لَّكُمۖ بَلْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْۚ لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِىٍٕ مِّنْهُم مَّا ٱكْتَسَبَ مِنَ ٱلْإِثْمِۚ وَٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ كِبْرَهُۥ مِنْهُمْ لَهُۥ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ 11
لَّوْلَآ إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ خَيْرًا وَقَالُواْ هَـٰذَآ إِفْكٌ مُّبِينٌ 12
لَّوْلَا جَآءُو عَلَيْهِ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَآءَۚ فَإِذْ لَمْ يَأْتُواْ بِٱلشُّهَدَآءِ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُمُ ٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَ 13
وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِى مَآ أَفَضْتُمْ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ 14
إِذْ تَلَقَّوْنَهُۥ بِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَتَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِكُم مَّا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَتَحْسَبُونَهُۥ هَيِّنًا وَهُوَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَظِيمٌ 15
وَلَوْلَآ إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ قُلْتُم مَّا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّتَكَلَّمَ بِهَـٰذَا سُبْحَـٰنَكَ هَـٰذَا بُهْتَـٰنٌ عَظِيمٌ 16
يَعِظُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَن تَعُودُواْ لِمِثْلِهِۦٓ أَبَدًا إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 17
وَيُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَيَـٰتِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ 18
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةُ فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 19
وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ 20
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoجَآءُوjāūbroughtبِٱلْإِفْكِbil-if'kithe lieعُصْبَةٌۭʿuṣ'batun(are) a groupمِّنكُمْ ۚminkumamong youلَاlā(Do) notتَحْسَبُوهُtaḥsabūhuthink itشَرًّۭاsharranbadلَّكُم ۖlakumfor youبَلْbalnayهُوَhuwaitخَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) goodلَّكُمْ ۚlakumfor youلِكُلِّlikulliFor everyٱمْرِئٍۢim'ri-inpersonمِّنْهُمmin'humamong themمَّاmā(is) whatٱكْتَسَبَik'tasabahe earnedمِنَminaofٱلْإِثْمِ ۚl-ith'mithe sinوَٱلَّذِىwa-alladhīand the one whoتَوَلَّىٰtawallātook upon himself a greater share of itكِبْرَهُۥkib'rahutook upon himself a greater share of itمِنْهُمْmin'humamong them لَهُۥlahufor himعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentعَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
24:11
لَّوْلَآlawlāWhy notإِذْidhwhenسَمِعْتُمُوهُsamiʿ'tumūhuyou heard itظَنَّẓannathinkٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believing menوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتُwal-mu'minātuand the believing womenبِأَنفُسِهِمْbi-anfusihimgood of themselvesخَيْرًۭاkhayrangood of themselvesوَقَالُوا۟waqālūand sayهَـٰذَآhādhāThisإِفْكٌۭif'kun(is) a lieمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
24:12
لَّوْلَاlawlāWhy (did) notجَآءُوjāūthey bringعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itبِأَرْبَعَةِbi-arbaʿatifourشُهَدَآءَ ۚshuhadāawitnessesفَإِذْfa-idhThen whenلَمْlamnotيَأْتُوا۟yatūthey broughtبِٱلشُّهَدَآءِbil-shuhadāithe witnessesفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseعِندَʿindanear Allahٱللَّهِl-lahinear Allahهُمُhumutheyٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَl-kādhibūna(are) the liars
24:13
وَلَوْلَاwalawlāAnd if notفَضْلُfaḍlu(for the) Graceٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥwaraḥmatuhuand His Mercyفِىfīinٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe worldوَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِwal-ākhiratiand the Hereafterلَمَسَّكُمْlamassakumsurely would have touched youفِىfīinمَآmāwhatأَفَضْتُمْafaḍtumyou had rushed gliblyفِيهِfīhiconcerning itعَذَابٌʿadhābuna punishmentعَظِيمٌʿaẓīmungreat
24:14
إِذْidhWhenتَلَقَّوْنَهُۥtalaqqawnahuyou received itبِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْbi-alsinatikumwith your tonguesوَتَقُولُونَwataqūlūnaand you saidبِأَفْوَاهِكُمbi-afwāhikumwith your mouthsمَّاmāwhatلَيْسَlaysanotلَكُمlakumfor youبِهِۦbihiof itعِلْمٌۭʿil'munany knowledgeوَتَحْسَبُونَهُۥwataḥsabūnahuand you thought itهَيِّنًۭاhayyinan(was) insignificantوَهُوَwahuwawhile itعِندَʿinda(was) near Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(was) near Allahعَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
24:15
وَلَوْلَآwalawlāAnd why notإِذْidhwhenسَمِعْتُمُوهُsamiʿ'tumūhuyou heard itقُلْتُمqul'tumyou saidمَّاmāNotيَكُونُyakūnuit isلَنَآlanāfor usأَنanthatنَّتَكَلَّمَnatakallamawe speakبِهَـٰذَاbihādhāof thisسُبْحَـٰنَكَsub'ḥānakaGlory be to YouهَـٰذَاhādhāThisبُهْتَـٰنٌbuh'tānun(is) a slanderعَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
24:16
يَعِظُكُمُyaʿiẓukumuAllah warns youٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah warns youأَنanthatتَعُودُوا۟taʿūdūyou returnلِمِثْلِهِۦٓlimith'lihi(to the) like of itأَبَدًاabadaneverإِنinifكُنتُمkuntumyou areمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
24:17
وَيُبَيِّنُwayubayyinuAnd Allah makes clearٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah makes clearلَكُمُlakumuto youٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ ۚl-āyātithe Versesوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun(is) All-KnowerحَكِيمٌḥakīmunAll-Wise
24:18
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيُحِبُّونَyuḥibbūnalikeأَنanthatتَشِيعَtashīʿa(should) spreadٱلْفَـٰحِشَةُl-fāḥishatuthe immoralityفِىfīamongٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainfulفِىfīinٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe worldوَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚwal-ākhiratiand the Hereafterوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsوَأَنتُمْwa-antumwhile youلَاlā(do) notتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
24:19
وَلَوْلَاwalawlāAnd if notفَضْلُfaḍlu(for the) Grace of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(for the) Grace of Allahعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥwaraḥmatuhuand His Mercyوَأَنَّwa-annaAnd thatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahرَءُوفٌۭraūfun(is) Full of KindnessرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
24:20
