إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٲلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَـٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْــًٔاۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۚ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ 116
مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٲةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ 117
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالاً وَدُّواْ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٲهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْأَيَـٰتِۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ 118
هَـٰٓأَنتُمْ أُوْلَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْاْ عَضُّواْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِۚ قُلْ مُوتُواْ بِغَيْظِكُمْۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ 119
إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُواْ بِهَاۖ وَإِن تَصْبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْــًٔاۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ 120
وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَـٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 121
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedلَنlanneverتُغْنِىَtugh'niyawill availعَنْهُمْʿanhum[for] themأَمْوَٰلُهُمْamwāluhumtheir wealthوَلَآwalāand notأَوْلَـٰدُهُمawlāduhumtheir childrenمِّنَminaagainstٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahشَيْـًۭٔا ۖshayananythingوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaand thoseأَصْحَـٰبُaṣḥābu(are the) companionsٱلنَّارِ ۚl-nāri(of) the Fireهُمْhumtheyفِيهَاfīhāin itخَـٰلِدُونَkhālidūna(will) abide forever
3:116
مَثَلُmathaluExampleمَاmā(of) whatيُنفِقُونَyunfiqūnathey spendفِىfīinهَـٰذِهِhādhihithisٱلْحَيَوٰةِl-ḥayati[the] lifeٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldكَمَثَلِkamathali(is) like (the) exampleرِيحٍۢrīḥin(of) a windفِيهَاfīhāin itصِرٌّṣirrun(is) frostأَصَابَتْaṣābatit struckحَرْثَḥartha(the) harvestقَوْمٍۢqawmin(of) a peopleظَلَمُوٓا۟ẓalamūwho wrongedأَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesفَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚfa-ahlakathuthen destroyed itوَمَاwamāAnd notظَلَمَهُمُẓalamahumu(has) wronged themٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahوَلَـٰكِنْwalākin[and] butأَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesيَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnathey wronged
3:117
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve[d]لَاlā(Do) notتَتَّخِذُوا۟tattakhidhūtakeبِطَانَةًۭbiṭānatan(as) intimatesمِّنminfromدُونِكُمْdūnikumother than yourselvesلَاlānotيَأْلُونَكُمْyalūnakumthey will spare youخَبَالًۭاkhabālan(any) ruinوَدُّوا۟waddūThey wishمَاmāwhatعَنِتُّمْʿanittumdistresses youقَدْqadIndeedبَدَتِbadati(has become) apparentٱلْبَغْضَآءُl-baghḍāuthe hatredمِنْminfromأَفْوَٰهِهِمْafwāhihimtheir mouthsوَمَاwamāand whatتُخْفِىtukh'fīconcealsصُدُورُهُمْṣudūruhumtheir breastsأَكْبَرُ ۚakbaru(is) greaterقَدْqadCertainlyبَيَّنَّاbayyannāWe made clearلَكُمُlakumufor youٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ ۖl-āyātithe Versesإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyou wereتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūna(to use) reason
3:118
هَـٰٓأَنتُمْhāantumLo! You areأُو۟لَآءِulāithoseتُحِبُّونَهُمْtuḥibbūnahumyou love themوَلَاwalābut notيُحِبُّونَكُمْyuḥibbūnakumthey love youوَتُؤْمِنُونَwatu'minūnaand you believeبِٱلْكِتَـٰبِbil-kitābiin the Book كُلِّهِۦkullihiall of itوَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenلَقُوكُمْlaqūkumthey meet youقَالُوٓا۟qālūthey sayءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeوَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenخَلَوْا۟khalawthey are aloneعَضُّوا۟ʿaḍḍūthey biteعَلَيْكُمُʿalaykumuat youٱلْأَنَامِلَl-anāmilathe finger tipsمِنَmina(out) ofٱلْغَيْظِ ۚl-ghayẓi[the] rageقُلْqulSayمُوتُوا۟mūtūDieبِغَيْظِكُمْ ۗbighayẓikumin your rageإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلِيمٌۢʿalīmun(is) All-Knowingبِذَاتِbidhātiof whatٱلصُّدُورِl-ṣudūri(is in) the breasts
3:119
إِنinIfتَمْسَسْكُمْtamsaskumtouches youحَسَنَةٌۭḥasanatuna goodتَسُؤْهُمْtasu'humit grieves themوَإِنwa-inand ifتُصِبْكُمْtuṣib'kumstrikes youسَيِّئَةٌۭsayyi-atunmisfortuneيَفْرَحُوا۟yafraḥūthey rejoiceبِهَا ۖbihāat itوَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَصْبِرُوا۟taṣbirūyou are patientوَتَتَّقُوا۟watattaqūand fear (Allah)لَاlānotيَضُرُّكُمْyaḍurrukumwill harm youكَيْدُهُمْkayduhumtheir plotشَيْـًٔا ۗshayan(in) anythingإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahبِمَاbimāof whatيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnathey doمُحِيطٌۭmuḥīṭun(is) All-Encompassing
3:120
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenغَدَوْتَghadawtayou left early morningمِنْminfromأَهْلِكَahlikayour householdتُبَوِّئُtubawwi-uto postٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believersمَقَـٰعِدَmaqāʿida(to take) positionsلِلْقِتَالِ ۗlil'qitālifor the battleوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahسَمِيعٌsamīʿun(is) All-HearingعَلِيمٌʿalīmunAll-Knowing
3:121
