وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُواْ حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْــًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ 104
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْۖ لَا يَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْۚ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 105
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ شَهَـٰدَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ حِينَ ٱلْوَصِيَّةِ ٱثْنَانِ ذَوَا عَدْلٍ مِّنكُمْ أَوْ ءَاخَرَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَصَـٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِۚ تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلصَّلَوٲةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ إِنِ ٱرْتَبْتُمْ لَا نَشْتَرِى بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰۙ وَلَا نَكْتُمُ شَهَـٰدَةَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْأَثِمِينَ 106
فَإِنْ عُثِرَ عَلَىٰٓ أَنَّهُمَا ٱسْتَحَقَّآ إِثْمًا فَـَٔـاخَرَانِ يَقُومَانِ مَقَامَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْأَوْلَيَـٰنِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ لَشَهَـٰدَتُنَآ أَحَقُّ مِن شَهَـٰدَتِهِمَا وَمَا ٱعْتَدَيْنَآ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ 107
ذَٲلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتُواْ بِٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهَآ أَوْ يَخَافُوٓاْ أَن تُرَدَّ أَيْمَـٰنُۢ بَعْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْۗ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْمَعُواْۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ 108
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقِيلَqīlait is saidلَهُمْlahumto themتَعَالَوْا۟taʿālawComeإِلَىٰilātoمَآmāwhatأَنزَلَanzalahas (been) revealedٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) Allahوَإِلَىwa-ilāand toٱلرَّسُولِl-rasūlithe Messengerقَالُوا۟qālūthey saidحَسْبُنَاḥasbunāSufficient for usمَاmā(is) whatوَجَدْنَاwajadnāwe foundعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon itءَابَآءَنَآ ۚābāanāour forefathersأَوَلَوْawalawEven thoughكَانَkāna(that)ءَابَآؤُهُمْābāuhumtheir forefathersلَاlā(were) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknowingشَيْـًۭٔاshayananythingوَلَاwalāand notيَهْتَدُونَyahtadūnathey (were) guided
5:104
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumUpon youأَنفُسَكُمْ ۖanfusakum(is to guard) yourselvesلَاlāNotيَضُرُّكُمyaḍurrukumwill harm youمَّنman(those) whoضَلَّḍalla(have gone) astrayإِذَاidhāwhenٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ ۚih'tadaytumyou have been guidedإِلَىilāToٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَرْجِعُكُمْmarjiʿukum(is) your return جَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanallفَيُنَبِّئُكُمfayunabbi-ukumthen He will inform youبِمَاbimāof whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used toتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
5:105
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveشَهَـٰدَةُshahādatu(Take) testimonyبَيْنِكُمْbaynikumamong youإِذَاidhāwhenحَضَرَḥaḍaraapproachesأَحَدَكُمُaḥadakumuone of youٱلْمَوْتُl-mawtu[the] deathحِينَḥīna(at the) time (of making)ٱلْوَصِيَّةِl-waṣiyati[the] a willٱثْنَانِith'nānitwoذَوَاdhawāmenعَدْلٍۢʿadlinjustمِّنكُمْminkumamong youأَوْaworءَاخَرَانِākharānitwo othersمِنْminfromغَيْرِكُمْghayrikumother than youإِنْinifأَنتُمْantumyouضَرَبْتُمْḍarabtum(are) travel(ing)فِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَأَصَـٰبَتْكُمfa-aṣābatkumthen befalls youمُّصِيبَةُmuṣībatucalamityٱلْمَوْتِ ۚl-mawti(of) [the] deathتَحْبِسُونَهُمَاtaḥbisūnahumāDetain both of themمِنۢminfromبَعْدِbaʿdiafterٱلصَّلَوٰةِl-ṣalatithe prayerفَيُقْسِمَانِfayuq'simāniand let them both swearبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiby Allahإِنِiniifٱرْتَبْتُمْir'tabtumyou doubtلَاlāNotنَشْتَرِىnashtarīwe will exchangeبِهِۦbihiit forثَمَنًۭاthamanana priceوَلَوْwalaweven ifكَانَkānahe isذَاdhā(of)قُرْبَىٰ ۙqur'bāa near relativeوَلَاwalāand notنَكْتُمُnaktumuwe will concealشَهَـٰدَةَshahādatatestimonyٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahإِنَّآinnāIndeed, weإِذًۭاidhanthenلَّمِنَlamina(will) surely (be) ofٱلْـَٔاثِمِينَl-āthimīnathe sinners
5:106
فَإِنْfa-inThen ifعُثِرَʿuthirait is discoveredعَلَىٰٓʿalā(on)أَنَّهُمَاannahumāthat the twoٱسْتَحَقَّآis'taḥaqqā(were) guiltyإِثْمًۭاith'man(of) sinفَـَٔاخَرَانِfaākharānithen (let) two othersيَقُومَانِyaqūmānistandمَقَامَهُمَاmaqāmahumā(in) their placeمِنَminafromٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱسْتَحَقَّis'taḥaqqahave a lawful rightعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuover them ٱلْأَوْلَيَـٰنِl-awlayānithe former two فَيُقْسِمَانِfayuq'simāniand let them both swearبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiby AllahلَشَهَـٰدَتُنَآlashahādatunāSurely our testimonyأَحَقُّaḥaqqu(is) truerمِنminthanشَهَـٰدَتِهِمَاshahādatihimātestimony of the other twoوَمَاwamāand notٱعْتَدَيْنَآiʿ'tadaynāwe have transgressedإِنَّآinnāIndeed, weإِذًۭاidhanthenلَّمِنَlamina(will be) ofٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
5:107
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatأَدْنَىٰٓadnā(is) closerأَنanthatيَأْتُوا۟yatūthey will giveبِٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِbil-shahādatithe testimonyعَلَىٰʿalāinوَجْهِهَآwajhihāits (true) formأَوْaworيَخَافُوٓا۟yakhāfūthey would fearأَنanthatتُرَدَّturaddawill be refutedأَيْمَـٰنٌۢaymānuntheir oathsبَعْدَbaʿdaafterأَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۗaymānihimtheir (others) oathsوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūAnd fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَٱسْمَعُوا۟ ۗwa-is'maʿūand listenوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuand Allahلَاlā(does) notيَهْدِىyahdīguideٱلْقَوْمَl-qawmathe peopleٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَl-fāsiqīnathe defiantly disobedient
5:108
