وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ شَيْــًٔا وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ 73
فَلَا تَضْرِبُواْ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْثَالَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 74
۞ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلاً عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَـٰهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًاۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوُۥنَۚ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ 75
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلاً رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْلَـٰهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِۙ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ 76
وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِۚ وَمَآ أَمْرُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ ٱلْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 77
وَٱللَّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْــًٔا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْــِٔدَةَۙ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ 78
أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَٲتٍ فِى جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ 79
وَيَعْبُدُونَwayaʿbudūnaAnd they worshipمِنminother thanدُونِdūniother thanٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَاmāwhichلَاlānotيَمْلِكُyamlikupossessesلَهُمْlahumfor themرِزْقًۭاriz'qanany provisionمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthشَيْـًۭٔاshayan[anything]وَلَاwalāand notيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are able
16:73
فَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَضْرِبُوا۟taḍribūput forthلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahٱلْأَمْثَالَ ۚl-amthālathe similitudeإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsوَأَنتُمْwa-antumand youلَاlā(do) notتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
16:74
۞ ضَرَبَḍarabaAllah sets forthٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah sets forthمَثَلًاmathalanthe exampleعَبْدًۭاʿabdan(of) a slaveمَّمْلُوكًۭاmamlūkan(who is) ownedلَّاlānotيَقْدِرُyaqdiruhe has powerعَلَىٰʿalāonشَىْءٍۢshayinanythingوَمَنwamanand (one) whomرَّزَقْنَـٰهُrazaqnāhuWe provided himمِنَّاminnāfrom Usرِزْقًاriz'qana provisionحَسَنًۭاḥasanangoodفَهُوَfahuwaso heيُنفِقُyunfiquspendsمِنْهُmin'hufrom itسِرًّۭاsirransecretlyوَجَهْرًا ۖwajahranand publiclyهَلْhalCanيَسْتَوُۥنَ ۚyastawūnathey be equalٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praiseلِلَّهِ ۚlillahi(is) for AllahبَلْbalNayأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhumbut most of themلَاlā(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
16:75
وَضَرَبَwaḍarabaAnd Allah sets forthٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah sets forthمَثَلًۭاmathalanan exampleرَّجُلَيْنِrajulayni(of) two menأَحَدُهُمَآaḥaduhumāone of themأَبْكَمُabkamu(is) dumbلَاlānotيَقْدِرُyaqdiruhe has powerعَلَىٰʿalāonشَىْءٍۢshayinanythingوَهُوَwahuwawhile heكَلٌّkallun(is) a burdenعَلَىٰʿalāonمَوْلَىٰهُmawlāhuhis masterأَيْنَمَاaynamāWhereverيُوَجِّههُّyuwajjihhuhe directs himلَاlānotيَأْتِyatihe comesبِخَيْرٍ ۖbikhayrinwith any goodهَلْhalIsيَسْتَوِىyastawīequalهُوَhuwaheوَمَنwamanand (the one) whoيَأْمُرُyamurucommandsبِٱلْعَدْلِ ۙbil-ʿadli[of] justiceوَهُوَwahuwaand heعَلَىٰʿalā(is) onصِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭina pathمُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminstraight
16:76
وَلِلَّهِwalillahiAnd to Allah (belongs)غَيْبُghaybu(the) unseenٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَآwamāAnd notأَمْرُamru(is the) matterٱلسَّاعَةِl-sāʿati(of) the Hourإِلَّاillābutكَلَمْحِkalamḥias a twinklingٱلْبَصَرِl-baṣari(of) the eyeأَوْaworهُوَhuwaitأَقْرَبُ ۚaqrabu(is) nearerإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلَىٰʿalāonكُلِّkullieveryشَىْءٍۢshayinthingقَدِيرٌۭqadīrun(is) All-Powerful
16:77
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahأَخْرَجَكُمakhrajakumbrought you forthمِّنۢminfromبُطُونِbuṭūnithe wombsأُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْummahātikum(of) your mothersلَاlānotتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknowingشَيْـًۭٔاshayananythingوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeلَكُمُlakumufor youٱلسَّمْعَl-samʿathe hearingوَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَwal-abṣāraand the sightوَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۙwal-afidataand the heartsلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnagive thanks
16:78
أَلَمْalamDo notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeإِلَىilātowardsٱلطَّيْرِl-ṭayrithe birdsمُسَخَّرَٰتٍۢmusakharātincontrolledفِىfīinجَوِّjawwithe midstٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāi(of) the skyمَاmāNoneيُمْسِكُهُنَّyum'sikuhunnaholds them upإِلَّاillāexceptٱللَّهُ ۗl-lahuAllahإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātin(are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
16:79
