قُل لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِى نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ لَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِىَ ٱلسُّوٓءُۚ إِنْ أَنَا۟ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ 188
۞ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٲحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَاۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّـٰهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلاً خَفِيفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِۦۖ فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْتَنَا صَـٰلِحًا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ 189
فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَـٰهُمَا صَـٰلِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَـٰهُمَاۚ فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ 190
أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْــًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ 191
وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًا وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ 192
وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَا يَتَّبِعُوكُمْۚ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ أَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْ أَمْ أَنتُمْ صَـٰمِتُونَ 193
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ عِبَادٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْۖ فَٱدْعُوهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُواْ لَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ 194
أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَآۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَآۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَآۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَاۗ قُلِ ٱدْعُواْ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ 195
قُلqulSayلَّآlāNotأَمْلِكُamlikuI have powerلِنَفْسِىlinafsīfor myselfنَفْعًۭاnafʿan(to) benefitوَلَاwalāand noضَرًّاḍarran(power to) harmإِلَّاillāexceptمَاmāwhatشَآءَshāawillsٱللَّهُ ۚl-lahuAllahوَلَوْwalawAnd ifكُنتُkuntuI wouldأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknowٱلْغَيْبَl-ghayba(of) the unseenلَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُla-is'takthartusurely I could have multipliedمِنَminaofٱلْخَيْرِl-khayrithe goodوَمَاwamāand notمَسَّنِىَmassaniya(could) have touched meٱلسُّوٓءُ ۚl-sūuthe evilإِنْinNotأَنَا۠anā(am) Iإِلَّاillāexceptنَذِيرٌۭnadhīruna warnerوَبَشِيرٌۭwabashīrunand a bearer of good tidingsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminto a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
7:188
۞ هُوَhuwaHeٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمkhalaqakumcreated youمِّنminfromنَّفْسٍۢnafsina soulوَٰحِدَةٍۢwāḥidatinsingleوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itزَوْجَهَاzawjahāits mateلِيَسْكُنَliyaskunathat he might liveإِلَيْهَا ۖilayhāwith herفَلَمَّاfalammāAnd whenتَغَشَّىٰهَاtaghashāhāhe covers herحَمَلَتْḥamalatshe carriesحَمْلًاḥamlana burdenخَفِيفًۭاkhafīfanlightفَمَرَّتْfamarratand continuesبِهِۦ ۖbihiwith itفَلَمَّآfalammāBut whenأَثْقَلَتathqalatshe grows heavyدَّعَوَاdaʿawāthey both invokeٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahرَبَّهُمَاrabbahumātheir Lordلَئِنْla-inIfءَاتَيْتَنَاātaytanāYou give usصَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥana righteous (child)لَّنَكُونَنَّlanakūnannasurely we will beمِنَminaamongٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَl-shākirīnathe thankful
7:189
فَلَمَّآfalammāBut whenءَاتَىٰهُمَاātāhumāHe gives themصَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥana good, (child)جَعَلَاjaʿalāthey makeلَهُۥlahufor Himشُرَكَآءَshurakāapartnersفِيمَآfīmāin whatءَاتَىٰهُمَا ۚātāhumāHe has given themفَتَعَـٰلَىfataʿālāBut exaltedٱللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
7:190
أَيُشْرِكُونَayush'rikūnaDo they associateمَاmāwhatلَاlā(can) notيَخْلُقُyakhluqucreateشَيْـًۭٔاshayananythingوَهُمْwahumand theyيُخْلَقُونَyukh'laqūnaare created
7:191
وَلَاwalāAnd notيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are ableلَهُمْlahumto (give) themنَصْرًۭاnaṣranany helpوَلَآwalāand notأَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesيَنصُرُونَyanṣurūnacan they help
7:192
وَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَدْعُوهُمْtadʿūhumyou call themإِلَىilātoٱلْهُدَىٰl-hudāthe guidanceلَاlānotيَتَّبِعُوكُمْ ۚyattabiʿūkumwill they follow youسَوَآءٌsawāon(It is) sameعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor youأَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْadaʿawtumūhumwhether you call themأَمْamorأَنتُمْantumyouصَـٰمِتُونَṣāmitūnaremain silent
7:193
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou callمِنminfromدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahعِبَادٌʿibādun(are) slavesأَمْثَالُكُمْ ۖamthālukumlike youفَٱدْعُوهُمْfa-id'ʿūhumSo invoke themفَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟falyastajībūand let them respondلَكُمْlakumto youإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyou areصَـٰدِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
7:194
أَلَهُمْalahumAre for themأَرْجُلٌۭarjulunfeetيَمْشُونَyamshūna(to) walkبِهَآ ۖbihāwith [it]أَمْamorلَهُمْlahumfor themأَيْدٍۢaydinhandsيَبْطِشُونَyabṭishūna(to) holdبِهَآ ۖbihāwith [it]أَمْamorلَهُمْlahumfor themأَعْيُنٌۭaʿyununeyesيُبْصِرُونَyub'ṣirūna(to) seeبِهَآ ۖbihāwith [it]أَمْamorلَهُمْlahumfor themءَاذَانٌۭādhānunearsيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūna(to) hearبِهَا ۗbihāwith [it]قُلِquliSayٱدْعُوا۟id'ʿūCallشُرَكَآءَكُمْshurakāakumyour partnersثُمَّthummathenكِيدُونِkīdūnischeme against meفَلَاfalāand (do) notتُنظِرُونِtunẓirūnigive me respite
7:195
