أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُواْ مُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَۘ يُضَـٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُۚ مَا كَانُواْ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُواْ يُبْصِرُونَ 20
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ 21
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ 22
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَأَخْبَتُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ 23
۞ مَثَلُ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْأَصَمِّ وَٱلْبَصِيرِ وَٱلسَّمِيعِۚ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلاًۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ 24
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ 25
أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَۖ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ 26
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا نَرَٮٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَٮٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأْىِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلِۭ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَـٰذِبِينَ 27
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَـٰنِى رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمْ لَهَا كَـٰرِهُونَ 28
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseلَمْlamnotيَكُونُوا۟yakūnūwill beمُعْجِزِينَmuʿ'jizīna(able to) escapeفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَمَاwamāand notكَانَkānaisلَهُمlahumfor themمِّنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمِنْminanyأَوْلِيَآءَ ۘawliyāaprotectorsيُضَـٰعَفُyuḍāʿafuAnd will be doubledلَهُمُlahumufor themٱلْعَذَابُ ۚl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentمَاmāNotكَانُوا۟kānūthey wereيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnaableٱلسَّمْعَl-samʿa(to) hearوَمَاwamāand notكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)يُبْصِرُونَyub'ṣirūnasee
11:20
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the ones whoخَسِرُوٓا۟khasirū(have) lostأَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumtheir soulsوَضَلَّwaḍallaand lostعَنْهُمʿanhumfrom themمَّاmā(is) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey usedيَفْتَرُونَyaftarūna(to) invent
11:21
لَاlāNoجَرَمَjaramadoubtأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyفِىfīinٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafterهُمُhumu[they]ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَl-akhsarūna(will be) the greatest losers
11:22
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand doٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātigood deedsوَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟wa-akhbatūand humble themselvesإِلَىٰilābeforeرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseأَصْحَـٰبُaṣḥābu(are the) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖl-janati(of) Paradiseهُمْhumtheyفِيهَاfīhāin itخَـٰلِدُونَkhālidūna(will) abide forever
11:23
۞ مَثَلُmathalu(The) exampleٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِl-farīqayni(of) the two partiesكَٱلْأَعْمَىٰkal-aʿmā(is) like the blindوَٱلْأَصَمِّwal-aṣamiand the deafوَٱلْبَصِيرِwal-baṣīriand the seerوَٱلسَّمِيعِ ۚwal-samīʿiand the hearerهَلْhalAreيَسْتَوِيَانِyastawiyānithey equalمَثَلًا ۚmathalan(in) comparisonأَفَلَاafalāThen, will notتَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnayou take heed
11:24
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentنُوحًاnūḥanNuhإِلَىٰilātoقَوْمِهِۦٓqawmihihis peopleإِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amلَكُمْlakumto youنَذِيرٌۭnadhīruna warnerمُّبِينٌmubīnunclear
11:25
أَنanThatلَّاlā(do) notتَعْبُدُوٓا۟taʿbudūworshipإِلَّاillāexceptٱللَّهَ ۖl-lahaAllahإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor youعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a Dayأَلِيمٍۢalīminpainful
11:26
فَقَالَfaqālaSo saidٱلْمَلَأُl-mala-uthe chiefsٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedمِنminfromقَوْمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleمَاmāNotنَرَىٰكَnarākawe see youإِلَّاillābutبَشَرًۭاbasharana manمِّثْلَنَاmith'lanālike usوَمَاwamāand notنَرَىٰكَnarākawe see youٱتَّبَعَكَittabaʿakafollowed [you]إِلَّاillāexceptٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoهُمْhum[they]أَرَاذِلُنَاarādhilunā(are) the lowest of usبَادِىَbādiyaimmature in opinionٱلرَّأْىِl-rayiimmature in opinionوَمَاwamāAnd notنَرَىٰnarāwe seeلَكُمْlakumin youعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāover usمِنminanyفَضْلٍۭfaḍlinmeritبَلْbalnayنَظُنُّكُمْnaẓunnukumwe think youكَـٰذِبِينَkādhibīna(are) liars
11:27
قَالَqālaHe saidيَـٰقَوْمِyāqawmiO my peopleأَرَءَيْتُمْara-aytumDo you seeإِنinifكُنتُkuntuI wasعَلَىٰʿalāonبَيِّنَةٍۢbayyinatin(the) clear proofمِّنminfromرَّبِّىrabbīmy Lordوَءَاتَىٰنِىwaātānīwhile He has given meرَحْمَةًۭraḥmatanmercyمِّنْminfromعِندِهِۦʿindihiHimselfفَعُمِّيَتْfaʿummiyatbut (it) has been obscuredعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfrom youأَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَاanul'zimukumūhāshould We compel you (to accept) itوَأَنتُمْwa-antumwhile you (are)لَهَاlahāaverse to itكَـٰرِهُونَkārihūnaaverse to it
11:28
